About Pine Tar Soap and where it comes from.
Pine tar is a dark vegetable liquid from pine tree trunks that can be combined with various scents and oils to make a gentle, healing soap bars such as Grandpa Brands, manufacturing of pine tar soap since 1878.
Since the early 1900s, pine tar soap has been utilised with its skin-soothing properties as body soap, shampoo, oils and as a facial cleanser.
Pine tar has also been used to heal infections and wounds and today you can use pine tar to treat a variety of skin conditions and complaints.
With its anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties, doctors prescribe it for a variety of skin conditions and medicinal purposes with its anti-septic effect.
Uses and benefits of Pine Tar Soap and its treatment.
Pine tar soaps are used just the same as regular soap, once or twice a day with lukewarm water. You may use the soap as an all over body wash and as a hair wash with either soap or shampoo.
Its soothing and anti-inflammatory properties and customer testimonials make it useful and indicate pine tar soap is used to treat skin conditions like acne, seborrhoea, dandruff, psoriasis, eczema, seborrhea, dry skin, hives, insect bites and contact dermatitis.
You can also use it to treat blistery rashes caused by poison oak, poison sumac and poison ivy.
There are also many more uses, but however, it takes about three weeks before you notice significant change on your skin; this varies from person to person.
Pine tar soap has antibacterial and antifungal properties and is often marketed as natural soaps and contains very few, if any, synthetic chemicals. The soap is designed to be gentle to your skin and to reduce the risk of aggravating your skin condition.
You may have sensitive skin which is not uncommon. It is recommended to perform an initial patch test by applying pine tar soap to the inside of the wrist or elbow, if after 24 hours, no reaction occurs, use pine tar soap as per normal.
